1. Use of the Dropshop.co.uk Website

The Dropshop.co.uk Site is provided to you free of charge for your personal use only subject to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy an Cookies Policy. By using the Dropshop.co.uk Site you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy and Cookies Policy. Dropshopcouk Ltd may also impose limits on certain features and services or restrict your access to parts or all of this Website without notice or liability.

These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

2. Registration and security

  • To register with Dropshop.co.uk and purchase goods from our Website you must be over eighteen years of age. You must ensure that the details provided by you on registration or at any time are correct and complete.  You must inform us immediately of any changes to the information that you provided when registering by updating your personal details. You must give us your real name, address, phone number, email address and any other details that we may require to process your order.

  • When you register to use the Dropshop.co.uk you will be asked to create a username and password. You must keep this password confidential and must not disclose it or share it with anyone.
  • If you forget your password, you can request a new password, which will be emailed to the address we hold for you. You can change your password anytime through the account facilities on the website. Should we think that there is likely to be, or has been any breach of security, we may change your password and notify you of the change by email.
  • You will be responsible for all activities and orders that occur or are submitted under your username and password. If you know or suspect that someone else knows your password you should notify us by contacting Dropshop@dropshop.co.uk immediately.
  • We reserve the right to decline a new customer registration or suspend a customer’s account at any time and at our sole discretion.

  • Dropshopcouk Ltd may change the Website and Retail Sites or delete features in any way, at any time and for any reason.

How to create a really secure password

  • The longer the better. Make it at least 8 characters long
  • Use a mix of lower and upper case letters
  • Add or swap a letter with special characters like @$*&!?
  • Steer clear of obvious words or names
  • Avoid easy to guess items like your partner’s name, your birthday or numbers like 1234

3. Information We Collect

To be able to order from us we have to collect certain information from you. As part of this, you are required to give your contact information. We use the information given to us by you to provide the service you request from us in the way that is set out in this privacy policy. You can change your registration details easily through the account facilities available on the website.

  • User name and password - if we collect a user name and password, this is so we can keep your information safe and so that we can have your information to hand each time you visit us.
  • Name, address and postcode - without this we won't know where to send your order or to whom. We also use postcodes to quickly get your full address to save you typing it out, and in some cases to identify whether we deliver or offer services in your area
  • Age / date of birth - we may need to collect your age or date of birth in order to be able to sell you certain products alcohol.
  • Email address - we send a confirmation of your orders via email.
  • Telephone numbers - if there are any problems with your order or we need to check anything, we need to be able to contact you quickly.
  • Payment card number, expiry date, issue no and name of card holder – when you purchase a product or service we need these details so we can collect payment. Please ensure that the expiry date of your payment card is after the anticipated despatch date of your order. Payment is taken at the point of despatch for goods and in the event that the payment card has expired we will be unable to take payment and fulfil your order.

4. Amendments

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time and any changes will be notified to you via the e-mail address provided by you on registration or via a suitable announcement on the Dropshop.co.uk Website. The changes will apply to the use of the Dropshop.co.uk Website after we have given notice. If you do not wish to accept the new Terms and Conditions you should not continue to use the Dropshop.co.uk Website and the Online Stores. If you continue to use the Dropshop.co.uk Website after the date on which the change comes into effect, your use of the Dropshop.co.uk Website indicates your agreement to be bound by the new Terms and Conditions.

4. Excluded Services

The services provided by the Dropshop.co.uk Website do not include the provision of computer or other necessary equipment to access the Dropshop.co.uk Website. To use the Dropshop.co.uk Website site you will require Internet connectivity and appropriate telecommunication links. We shall not be liable for any telephone or other costs that you may incur.

5. Limitation of our liability

We exclude to the fullest extent permitted by law all liability resulting from your access to the Website including without limitation any loss (financial or otherwise) or damage resulting directly or indirectly from any such reliance.

We assume no responsibility for the content of websites linked on our Website. Such links should not be interpreted as endorsement by us of those linked websites. We will not be liable for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus, distributed denial-of-service attack, or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our Website or to your downloading of any content on it, or on any website linked to it.

6. Delivery

Free standard delivery when you spend £20 or more. Standard delivery under £20 depends on slot you choose, price shown on 'choose your slot' page.

Delivery will not be available for shopping under £10.

Order before 23pm for next working day delivery.

We can deliver your grocery order to you in approximately 2 hours timeslots seven days a week.

Our delivery service currently covers post codes LU1, LU2, LU3, LU4, LU5, LU6


Receiving your grocery delivery

  • You or someone aged 18 or over on your behalf must be available to receive, inspect and sign for your grocery order.  We will not be able to leave goods unattended under any circumstances.

  • To take the best care of your shopping, we pack your frozen and chilled goods in separate bags and keep them at the right temperature. Your shopping is then delivered in special vans with temperature-controlled compartments.

  • We will always deliver your order to the front door of your house or to the communal entrance to your block of flats. Our drivers may also deliver beyond this into your home.

  • If you are out for the time of your scheduled delivery, or are unable to meet our driver in your workplace within a reasonable time, we reserve the right to charge our standard delivery charge for re-delivery.


Providing a safe grocery delivery

The following information sets out our current delivery guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our customers and drivers are protected.

We will always deliver your order to the front door of your house or to the communal entrance to your block of flats. Our drivers may also deliver beyond this into your home.

For home deliveries, our driver will be happy to deliver your grocery order to your kitchen or garage if you would like us to. However, he or she needs to take into account a couple of important things before doing this and there are a few instances where this may not be possible. These are set out below:

  • Our driver may not be able to deliver to you if he or she has to transport your shopping an unreasonable distance because of parking restrictions.
  • Our driver will not come in if he or she believes it isn't safe or practical to do so. If this is the case, our driver will explain the reason clearly to you.
  • Our driver will need to be sure that you have given him or her permission to come in. 
  • Our driver will not always be able to deliver beyond the communal entrance if there isn't a lift, which transports the shopping beyond the first floor of the building (where the ground level is 0). If this is the case, the driver or a store colleague will discuss delivery options with you for subsequent deliveries.

Please note that our service does not extend to unpacking your shopping from its bags.

For deliveries to customers at a business address, we are only able to deliver to the ground floor communal entrance of your business, but are unfortunately not able to come up to your desk or place of work. If your business has a shared ground floor reception, this is the point to which we will deliver.

Please ensure you are available to receive and sign for the order within your timeslot. Our drivers will wait a reasonable amount of time for you to arrive at the ground floor reception to collect your order but if you do not arrive, they may need to leave without delivering your order. While we may be able to organise a redelivery for a subsequent time, we may need to charge for this redelivery.

7. Refunds on promotional offers

Refunds for goods purchased under a promotional offer will be based on the terms of the promotional price.Your statutory rights are not affected.


8. Availability of the Dropshop.co.uk Site

Although Dropshop.co.uk aims to offer you the best service possible, Dropshop.co.uk makes no promise that the services at the Dropshop.co.uk Site will meet your requirements. Dropshop.co.uk cannot guarantee that the service will be fault free. If a fault occurs in the service you should report it to the Customer Services (see below for contact details) or by email at customerservice@dropshop.co.uk and we will attempt to correct the fault as soon as we reasonably can.

Your access to the Dropshop.co.uk Site may be occasionally restricted to allow for repairs, maintenance or the introduction of new facilities or services. Dropshop.co.uk will attempt to restore the service as soon as it reasonably can.


9. Dropshop.co.uk's right to suspend or cancel your registration

Dropshop.co.uk may suspend or cancel your registration immediately at our reasonable discretion or if you breach any of your obligations under these Terms and Conditions.

You can cancel this agreement at any time by informing us in writing. If you do so, you must stop using the Dropshop.co.uk Site.

The suspension or cancellation of your registration and your right to use the Dropshop.co.uk Site shall not affect either party's rights or liabilities.

Paragraphs 5 and 10 of these Terms and Conditions shall survive cancellation.


10. Dropshop.co.uk's liability

The Dropshop.co.uk Site is provided by Dropshop.co.uk without any warranties or guarantees. You must bear the risks associated with the use of the Internet.

The Dropshop.co.uk Site provides content from other Internet sites or resources and while Dropshop.co.uk tries to ensure that material included on the Dropshop.co.uk Site is correct, reputable and of high quality, it cannot accept responsibility if this is not the case. Dropshop.co.uk will not be responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results obtained from the use of such information or for any technical problems you may experience with the Dropshop.co.uk Site. If Dropshop.co.uk is informed of any inaccuracies in the material on the Site we will attempt to correct the inaccuracies as soon as we reasonably can.

In particular, we disclaim all liabilities in connection with the following:

  • incompatibility of the Dropshop.co.uk Site with any of your equipment, software or telecommunications links
  • technical problems including errors or interruptions of the Dropshop.co.uk Site
  • unsuitability, unreliability or inaccuracy of the Dropshop.co.uk Site
  • inadequacy of the Dropshop.co.uk site to meet your requirements

To the full extent allowed by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable to you/or any third party for any consequential or incidental damages (including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of anticipated savings, wasted expenditure, loss of privacy and loss of data) or any other indirect, special or punitive damages whatsoever that arise out of or are related to the Dropshop.co.uk Site.

Nothing in this paragraph applies to Dropshop.co.uk's liability in respect of products sold through the Online Stores.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude Dropshop.co.uk's liability for personal injury or death caused by its negligence.

Our acceptance of an order takes place on despatch of the order, at which point the purchase contract will be made and you will be charged for your order.


11. Advertising and Sponsorship

Part of the Dropshop.co.uk Site may contain advertising and sponsorship. Advertisers and Sponsors are responsible for ensuring that material submitted for inclusion on the Dropshop.co.uk Site complies with relevant laws and codes. We will not be responsible for any error or inaccuracy in advertising and sponsorship material.


12. Applicable Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any disputes will be decided only by the English courts.


13. International Use

Dropshop.co.uk makes no promise that materials on the Dropshop.co.uk Site are appropriate or available for use in locations outside the United Kingdom, and accessing the Dropshop.co.uk Site from territories where its contents are illegal or unlawful is prohibited. If you choose to access this site from locations outside the United Kingdom, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.


14. Expiry Date on Payment Card

Please ensure that the expiry date of your payment card is after the anticipated despatch date of your order. Payment is taken at the point of despatch for goods and in the event that the payment card has expired we will be unable to take payment and fulfil your order.


15. Use of Community Sites

Each Community Site on the Dropshop.co.uk site (together the “Community Sites”) allows users to interact with each other via message boards, and other user forums. We advise you not to post or in anyway reveal any of your personal details on the Community Sites (for example, your address and telephone number).

You may not use the Community Sites for any of the following purposes:

  • disseminating any unlawful, harassing, libellous, defamatory, racially offensive, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable material;
  • transmitting material that encourages conduct that constitutes a criminal offence, results in civil liability or otherwise breaches any relevant laws, regulations or code of practice;
  • transmitting material containing any form of advertising or promotion for goods and services, junk mail, chain letters or "spam";
  • gaining unauthorised access to other computer systems;
  • interfering with any other person's use or enjoyment of the Community Sites;
  • making or transmitting or storing electronic copies of materials protected by copyright without the permission of the owner;
  • impersonating another person;
  • referring to specific website addresses outside of Dropshop.co.uk; or
  • advertising

Dropshop.co.uk does not control the content placed on the Community Sites. However, Dropshop.co.uk reserves the right to refuse to post material, to remove material posted on the Community Sites and to contact you in the event that there are concerns about the content you have added to a Community Site. Dropshop.co.uk may review or edit the content of the Community Sites. Therefore, if you have concerns about any of the content of the Community Sites you should contact us by selecting the “report as inappropriate” button. The relevant content may be removed from the Community Sites. If we believe that any material placed on the Community Sites by you is unlawful we may contact the relevant authority.

Dropshop.co.uk makes no representations as to the validity of any opinion, advice, information or statement displayed on the message boards by third parties. You are solely responsible for the content of your messages posted on the message boards and the views expressed by individuals do not represent the views of Dropshop.co.uk.

You will be responsible for:

  • any claim by any third party that the use of the Community Sites by you is defamatory, offensive or abusive, or of an obscene or pornographic nature, or is illegal or constitutes a breach of any applicable law, regulation or code of practice;
  • any claim by any third party that the use of the Community Sites by you infringes that third party's copyright or other intellectual property rights of whatever nature;
  • any fines or penalties imposed by any regulatory, advertising or trading body or authority in connection with the use of the Community Sites by you.

By submitting material you are granting Dropshop.co.uk a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to reproduce, modify, translate, make available, distribute and sublicense the material in whole or in part and in any form.

You will be responsible for our losses and costs resulting from your breach of these Community Sites terms and conditions.


16. Customer Text Survey

We may contact you based on any feedback you give in our grocery home shopping customer service text survey.


17. Miscellaneous

You may not assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer any of your rights under these Terms and Conditions.

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid by any court having competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of that provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.

If you breach these Terms and Conditions and Dropshop.co.uk ignores this, Dropshop.co.uk will still be entitled to use its rights and remedies at a later date or in any other situation where you breach the Terms and Conditions.

Dropshop.co.uk shall not be responsible for any breach of these Terms and Conditions caused by circumstances beyond its control.

A person who is not a party to these Terms and Conditions shall have no right under the Contract (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of these Terms and Conditions but this shall not affect any right or remedy of a third party which exists or is available apart from that Act.
